i'm 5'9. and as a fashionist. that makes it incredibly difficult to wear the shoes i adore without feeling a tad amazonian. additionally. unless i plan on wearing a spare and switching into heels outside of my destination---streetwalking in heels will only get me so far (pun intended. obvs). lucky for me wedges have been all the rage for the past few seasons and are ALL OVER the PLACE! and they really are the perfect balance of heel and comfort.
these chelsea crew unions are my new favorite pair. not unlike the mary roks that are selling out everywhere--these platforms will save you a third of the price PLUS have more blatant cut-outs---making them PERFECT to wear with tights or bobby socks or skinnys or leggings or bare or wellyougetthepicture. more importantly they are chic and structured enough to wear during the day (assuming you work at fashion-forward and/or creative environment and/or anywhere below 72nd street in manhattan) AND transition effortlessly to night. plus. despite their nearly 5" platform..i can still walk. FAR. and look great doing it.
